In this course you will learn about the essential design principles to prevent water leaks and leaching in buildings. The course focuses on residential apartment buildings (class 2) but the principles apply to all building types.

The course covers:

  • common problems with leaking and leaching of water and impacts on consumers and the building industry
  • the three design principles of waterproofing and how water behaves
  • how to design and build to avoid common waterproofing problems
  • three common waterproofing issue case studies demonstrating these principles in practice.

This course is aimed at all practitioners involved in designing, building, certifying, owning or managing apartment buildings. Architects, engineers, designers, waterproofers and other practitioners involved in building design will find this course especially helpful.

Owners and strata managers can also complete this course to better understand what good design should look like when maintaining their building.

As you work through the course you will have the opportunity to answer questions and progressively check your understanding. Complete the assessment quiz and the feedback activity to obtain your CPD certificate of completion.
