The course focuses on certifiers ensuring the consistency of a building’s construction with consent conditions, building plans and specifications, and acting in the public interest when a building’s construction is inconsistent. The course helps learners better understand Volumes 1 and 2 of the Practice Standards, equipping certifiers to identify building and documentation issues and proactively manage issuing certification, compiling, assessing, and requesting documentation and carrying out inspections.
This course is aimed at all NSW registered certifiers.

- Explain the roles and responsibilities of certifiers as public officials when inspecting building works and issuing Construction and Occupation certificates.
- Identify the key legislation for certifiers when inspecting building works and issuing Construction and Occupation certificates.
- Evaluate the suitability and reliability of documentary evidence when issuing Construction and Occupation certificates.
- Exhibit improved behaviours and actions in executing certifiers’ duties when undertaking inspections and determining the outcome of an inspection.
