This course is designed for site managers, project managers, leaders, people managers and colleagues who want to explore practical and supportive strategies to respect, recognise and support the lived experience of diversity within teams. Supporting diverse employees helps create and sustain a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace, resulting in increased retention and employee engagement.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain how a diverse workforce can enrich the workplace and lead to increased employee retention.
  • Identify the legal obligations of employers and employees.
  • Recognise and articulate the importance and value of diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Recognise unconscious bias and implement tools to mitigate its effects.
  • Adopt and embed inclusive communication and behaviour to foster inclusive environments.
  • Foster a culturally and psychologically safe workplace by applying inclusive strategies and safe cultural practices.
  • Apply flexible workplace strategies and practices.
  • Develop leadership and communication practices that create safe and inclusive workplaces and develop effective mentoring programs that support the professional growth of diverse employees.

As you progress through the course, interactive questions and regular check-ins will help your understanding. Upon successful completion of the assessment quiz and feedback activity, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Can we purchase the course to host on our own LMS?

Participants are required to complete the course within the TAFE NSW LMS. There is currently no option available to host courses on external LMS platforms.

How do I purchase courses for my staff? (less than 10)

If you would like to purchase courses for your staff (less than 10), each participant will need to complete the checkout process separately (e.g. select the “ADD TO CART” button for the desired course or courses, and then continue through the checkout process). The participant’s details are to be entered in the “ACCOUNT DETAILS” section. The relevant credit card details can then be entered in the credit card payment section. The screenshot below shows an example of the checkout screen and where to enter this information.

The details entered in the “ACCOUNT DETAILS” section will be used to create an account for the participant. The participant will then receive a confirmation email with login instructions. If the course is a paid course, they will also receive an invoice for your records.

If the same PC or device is being used to process multiple orders, please ensure you are logged out after each order is complete.

There is no bulk enrolment method available. Participants are required to enrol by completing the checkout process for the relevant course or courses.
